Cristiano Ronaldo ’embarrased’ by rape allegations

Cristiano Ronaldo admits that he felt”embarrassed” by allegations that he raped a girl in vegas.
The Portuguese was accused of sexually attacking American Kathryn Mayorga in a hotel room in June, 2009 – a claim he refused.
The investigation was originally closed in 2009 but reopened in August soon before a lawsuit filed in September. She said she’d gained the courage to speak out due to this #MeToo movement.
Prosecutors announced in July that they wouldn’t be prosecuting the case as the allegations could not”be shown beyond a reasonable doubt”.
The civil case is still available against the footballer.
Ronaldo admits that the allegations have taken a toll on him.
“They play with your dignity,” Ronaldo told’Good Morning Britain’ in a meeting with Piers Morgan which will air Tuesday.
“It’s hard. You have a girlfriend, you have a household, you have children. It is bad, If they perform with your honesty, it is hard.
“I recall one day that I had been at home in the living room with my buddy watching the tv to find the information and they talk about’Cristiano Ronaldo that.’
“I listened to my children coming down the stairs and I changed the station because I was embarrassed.
“I just changed the station for Cristiano Jr not to find they speak bad about his dad about a very bad case.”
During the meeting, Ronaldo became emotional when speaking about his dad away aged 52 due to cirrhosis in 2005, two years after he first joined Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon.
Ronaldo broke down into tears from Morgan of his dad praising his son to get Norwegian TV before he expired, when shown footage.
“I never watched that movie. Incredible,” Ronaldo said. “I think the interview would be funny, but I did not expect to yell. However, these pictures were never seen by me. I don’t know the place you… I have to have these pictures to show my family.
“I really don’t know my father 100 per cent. He was a person. He and I never talked like a normal conversation. It had been hard.
“To be the number one and he do not see nothing, and he do not see to get awards, to see exactly what I became.”
