Despite Corona, football fans should soon be able to return to the stadiums. To this end, the DFL has revised its concept and is praised by Health Minister Spahn. Doctors and Bavaria’s Prime Minister Söder warn, however.
The German Football League (DFL) wants to make Bundesliga games with fans possible again despite the pandemic. Against the background of a conversation between the health ministers on Monday, the Marburger Bund doctors’ association warned against the return of football fans to the stadiums. “The danger of mass infections would be real,” said the chairwoman of the association, Susanne Johna, of the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung”. She called the infection protection concept presented by the DFL last week “unrealistic”.
Johna said she thought it was “unrealistic” that the DFL plan could prevent contagion. A single infected fan could have the consequence that the virus spreads “like wildfire”. She could not imagine that the fans would remain in their seats when their team scored a goal: “You are in each other’s arms and don’t think about Corona.”
Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder is also critical of a return of spectators: “I have been very committed to starting ghost games, it is also going very well. But when the stadium is full for the Bundesliga start, I am extremely skeptical,” said the CSU politician. “It is also not wise if we start school when it is the beginning of autumn to consider that we then have an additional 20,000, 25,000 people in the stadiums,” he said. In the last week of August he will try to hold a prime ministerial conference on the Bundesliga in coordination with the federal government.
Politicians are skeptical about the DFL concept.
Afternoon consultations.
In the afternoon, the federal and state health ministers want to discuss rules for the possible return of fans to the football stadiums. The DFL plan provides for no standing room or alcohol until the end of October, a waiver of guest fans until the end of the year and the collection of all contact details.
Hamburg’s First Mayor Peter Tschentscher also spoke out in favor of the fans returning to the stadiums. “Why shouldn’t it be possible to open a football stadium with a few thousand spectators?”, He told the “Bild” newspaper. It must be about proportionality. “What is possible in view of risk protection should be done.” In Hamburg it is already possible to follow concerts with up to 750 people live in the Elbphilarmonie.
DFL agrees on guidelines.
Spahn praises the DFL concept.
Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn praised the concept, but urged a http://main-news.space/leaving-instagram-group-how-do-i-do-it/ sensible and precise application. “It was very important to us that a distance of 1.5 meters should also be guaranteed in the stadium,” he said. “The concept has been revised again and much more besides.” From the health minister’s point of view, the stadium itself is less of a problem than the arrival and departure of fans. The concept must therefore be discussed with the responsible local health authorities and the clubs. But it is also clear that no tests should be wasted just so that the fans can come back to the stadium.
Federal Interior Minister Horst Seehofer, who is also responsible for sport, has long been of the opinion that spectators should be allowed into the stadium again if there is a strong hygiene concept. The minister said he had made the experience that the DFL and DFB could be relied on.
